Odysseus is a man that well do what ever it takes to get home. He plundered the Island of Tory to get home. Also he lost a few men and saved a few men form The Lotus-Eaters, Lost men in the Cyclops cave, and then he ends up in the underworld. I say that he is a dumb fighter and leader. I also say that he should have never stopped at any of those places and should have went right home. Well the story is like this.
Odysseus had to travel to the Underworld to consult the blind prophet Tiresias. Odysseus was in the Underworld and he was seeing people he left dead on where they died. First he saw Elpenor a man that was in Odysseus' crew. He still lay died unburied in Circe's hall where they left him. Then Odysseus saw his mother Anticlea. This was news to him he didn't know that his mom had died. Odysseus started to cry. Which I really didn't. I just wanted to get him to see what he had done and get him out of the Underworld. After all Odysseus had seen all the souls that were left for dead and everyone forgot about them. Which i really don't care. It just means more people for me to mess with.
Odysseus gets to talk to Tiresias after all that. Tiresias tells Odysseus that after the long journey though the strait he will come to of Helios the Sun God. He will find cattle there. Odysseus and his men are not to touch the cattle or Odysseus will lose his hip and this crew Tiresias tells him. Tiresias also say that after that he will return home under strange sail. Then when he gets home there will be trouble in our house. Men eating your livestock and trying to court our lady Tiresias says. Then Tiresias say that he will make the atone in blood. Then Odysseus will go and pray to Lord Poseidon. Tiresias says that he has to bring Poseidon a ram, a bull, and a great buck bear. Then he is to turn back and will die a peaceful death with his family all around him. Well I think that Odysseus is man that will take risks. He will make sure that he would see his home again. Well he go home and ever thing will be fine, but i think he should never see home because of what he did. I just guess the Zeus is nicer then me.
